Hi! I'm Janis and I am a retired elementary music teacher. But this blog is not about music and it is not about children. This is a blog about cats — feral cats.

The story begins with my first post—Cassie!

Release!

January 2010

Day 2 TNR

I was more than happy to fulfill the "Release" part of TNR. Big Yella was driving us crazy. He was more than ready to leave the premises.

So the next morning, I set the trap out and opened the door.

He ran away so fast and we laughed so hard because we knew he wished he had never come to our backyard.

And he never came back.

Never.

The kittens were another story. I was so sad to have to let them go. They were so scared and I was afraid they would run away like Big Yella.

But when you take cats to the Snip and Tip Clinic, you agree to release them. I still, to this day, wish I had tried to find homes for the kittens.

They have turned out to be the sweetest cats and would have made great pets.

They didn't run away and for the most part they've stayed with us in our backyard.

Belle has been a wonderful indoor cat and actually goes outside occasionally to play with her siblings.

But we still had to catch a few more cats, mama and the rest of the first family.

We were not prepared for what happened at the next . . .

Trapping Cats, Part 2!
